About the Biff Brewster Series
 |
About the Authors: The name Andy Adams was a
pseudonym used by Grosset & Dunlap to conceal at least three different authors. All but volumes two and three of the
series have been attributed to Walter Gibson, Edward Pastore, or Peter Harkins, all of whom had notable careers in
addition to their work on this series. |
 |
About the Illustrators: While the Dutch editions are credited to Rein van Looy,
and the Swedish covers were painted by Rickard Lüsch, the American, British, and Norwegian editions do not tell the
names of the illustrators. Judging by art style, it appears there were at least two different illustrators who worked on
the American series, but probably only one artist for the Norwegian books. |
 |
The Biff Brewster Universe: Meet Biff Brewster, his family
and friends, and learn a little about their lives. Find out the countries Biff has visited during in his adventures across five
continents, and read about the friends he makes in each story who help him out of so many scrapes. Plus, see a number
of illustrations from the series! |
 |
Biff Brewster Book Formats: Learn about the
different formats these books were issued in, from the familiar dust jacket or picture cover American editions, to the
fascinating foreign editions. Various volumes from the series were reprinted in England, Holland, Norway, and Sweden,
in everything from deluxe hardbound editions with dust jackets to regular paperbacks. |
