Out in the channel rode Japanese
naval vessels!

Five solid weeks on the ground were beginning to wear on Steve, even though the young American flier was supposed to be on vacation in Hawaii. When an opportunity came to borrow a plane, he jumped at the chance.

But the quiet, peaceful cruise which he had in mind was not destined to materialize. For the plane had been sabotaged and Steve found himself stranded on an island three hundred miles from Oahu––the day the Japs treacherously attacked Pearl Harbor.

Steve's reunion under fire with the red-headed Hondurian, Pedro Hennessey, and the amazing gypsy, Venga Savricas; their daring attack on an aircraft carrier; and their startling discovery of the Japanese fleet rendezvous at Compass Islands make an electrifying story of extraordinary ingenuity and superhuman bravery.
