As Stan came up he saw Allison's
burning Mustang sagging toward
the forest.

Just before going up to escort a flight of big bombers over Berlin, Stan Wilson and Bill O'Malley jokingly present March Allison –– the third member of the daredevil trio –– with a loud red and orange sweater. Little did these two daring young fighter pilots realize what an important role the gaudy-colored sweater was to play in Allison's life.

Over Germany Allison's plane is attacked by a swarm of ME's, disabled by their fire, and forced down on a field near a German prison camp. Stan Wilson and O'Malley, when they discover that their pal had crashed, do some scouting on their own near the scene. They are thrilled when, flying low, they spot Allison in the prison yard, waving the red and orange sweater.

Immediately they start to think up a daring plan to rescue the prisoner, and how they carry it out makes one of the most stirring air adventures of the War. Al Avery had done it again! Happy landings for Stan and Bill and March mean happy reading for thousands of boys who know this gallant trio as well as they know their own brothers.
